June 2016

In this Issue:

Summer Solstice Music Festival | June 20-28, 2016
Introducing Allen Jacobson: Managing Director
ECMS 2016/17 Season

ECMS Summer Chamber Music Festival
DAYS AWAY!

The final touches are being put on the Festival — a post-concert reception on Opening Night, young musicians preparing a pre-concert event on closing night, and volunteers organizing to provide rides, Front of House services and ticket sales at the concert doors.

This is a gentle reminder to our members, subscribers, partners and friends that our annual Summer Solstice Music Festival begins on June 20 and continues until the 28th.

What better way to celebrate this time of year than with some truly memorable concerts presented by remarkable international and local artists?

Convocation Hall, All Saints’ Anglican Cathedral and the Yellowhead Brewery are the venues for this year’s concerts. Each venue provides for a very special and unique concert setting. The Yellowhead Brewery will be perfect for “rubbing elbows” with the performers … something you’ve always wanted to do.

From Mozart, Haydn and Ravel, A Night at the Opera with both vocal and instrumental performances, to Matt Haimovitz’s pioneering cello excursions — these nine days really offer a chance to explore the great diversity of chamber music. ESO’s concertmaster Robert Uchida and ESO friends will present a program of “intimate works.”
