A Message from the President
Welcome to the Edmonton Chamber Music Society’s 71st season.
We are so excited to share with you our extraordinary season which sets our society apart from others – we are committed to bring you the world’s best chamber music musicians to the heart of our city.
In pursuit of musical excellence, we have planned a season that transcends borders, showcasing virtuosic talents from every corner of the globe. This season we are thrilled to present an array of performances that span the spectrum of chamber music. Our journal begins with the dynamic Canadian pianist Stewart Goodyear in an all-Beethoven program. Next, we welcome back Tafelmusik, one of the world’s foremost period orchestras. In December, a special treat is Amarcord Vocal Ensemble, whose repertoire spans the Renaissance to modern. The acclaimed Sitkovetsky Trio begins the New Year, followed by Ayreheart Early Music Band, led by renowned lutenist Ronn McFarlane, with an innovative take on this repertoire.
We again present a concert dedicated to Czech music with violinist Ivan Zenaty and pianist Martin Kasik, sponsored by the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences of Alberta. News flash! This concert will be FREE to subscribers, our gift to you for your loyalty.
The season ends with multiple competition prize winners, including 3rd prize at the 2022 Banff String quartet competition, the Balourdet String quartet.
Please join us to enjoy the universal language of music.
With thanks
Don Morrish
