A Message from the President
Welcome to the Edmonton Chamber Music Society’s 70th Anniversary season. We are so excited to share with you our extraordinary anniversary season which sets our society apart from others – we are committed to bring you the world’s best chamber music musicians to the heart of our city.
In our pursuit of musical excellence, we have planned a season that transcends borders, showcasing virtuosic talents from every corner of the globe. The international flavor of our lineup is a testament to our dedication to offering Edmonton audiences a truly global and enriching musical experience.
This season, we are thrilled to present an array of performances that span the spectrum of chamber music. Our journey begins with the dynamic Gryphon Trio, renowned for their captivating performances and innovative programming. Next, we celebrate National Czech Day with violinist Olga Arribas Quintana and pianist Miroslav Sekera, who bring their extraordinary talent and passion to our stage.
In November, we will be enchanted by the ethereal sound of Vox Luminis, an ensemble specializing in early music that promises to transport us through time. As we move into the new year, the acclaimed Schumann Quartett will share their rich and expressive interpretations, followed by Canadian pianist Angela Hewitt, whose mastery of a wide range of repertoire is unparalleled.
Our season culminates with a performance by the beloved Ehnes Quartet, whose refined and sensitive artistry has earned them acclaim across the globe.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to you, our cherished members, supporters, and volunteers, whose unwavering commitment enables us to fulfill our mission. Together, we are not merely spectators; we are ambassadors of a cultural movement that celebrates the universal language of music.
With gratitude,
Don Morrish
